The business person can travel for 693.3 miles

<em><u>Solution:</u></em>

value rent-a-car rental a luxury car at a daily rate of $40.67 plus 10 cents per mile

1 dollar = 100 cents

10\ cents = \frac{10}{100}\ dollar\\\\10\ cents = 0.1\ dollar

Let "m" be the number of miles

<em><u>Therefore, total cost to rent is given as:</u></em>

Total cost = 40.67 + 0.1(number of miles)

Total cost = 40.67 + 0.1m

<em><u>A business person is alloted $110 for a car rental each day</u></em>

Therefore, total cost = 110

Thus we get,

110 = 40.67 + 0.1m

<em><u>Solve for "m"</u></em>

0.1m = 110 - 40.67

0.1m = 69.33

Divide both sides by 0.1

m = 693.3

Thus business person can travel for 693.3 miles

tangare [24]

Answer:

Since 64= 2^6, you have the following arrangements.

Optional: 64 \times 1 (and it's mirror version 1 \times 64, if you want to consider a long strip of bottles a rectangle. Technically it is, but it's open to interpretation.

32 \times 2 and it's mirror 2 \times 32;

16 \times 4 and it's mirror 4 \times 16;

Optional: 8 \times 8. Since a square is a rectangle with extra limitations.

An artist wants to frame a square painting with an area of 400 square inches she wants to know the lenth of the wood trim that i
Jet001 [13]

Answer:

The formula for the area of a square with sides of length x is  A = x2  so

x2 = 400  is the equation

This equation has 2 solutions, namely x = ±√400 = +20 or -20

The negative solution does not make sense because a length cannot be less than 0.

The total length needed to go around the painting is the perimeter of the square, which is

P = 4*x = 4*20 = 80 inches
