The dimensions of the closed rectangular box are  14 by 14 by 14

Step-by-step explanation:

Volume of the box will be : l×w×h  but l=w,hence volume= w²h

Area of the box is : 2w² + 4hw

Volume,v=w²h=2744----------find height,h

h=2744/w²-------------use this height in the area equation as;

Area=2w²+4hw

A=2w^2+4(\frac{2744}{w^{2} } )*w\\\\\\A=2w^2+\frac{10976}{w} \\

Minimizing the area

dA/dw=4w-10976/w^2\\\\\\4w-10976/w^2=0\\\\\\4w^3-10976=0\\\\4w^3=10976\\\\w^3=2744\\\\w=\sqrt[3]{2744}\\ \\\\w=14

w=15,to find the height use h=2744/w²

h=2744/14²

h=14

You first multiply the outside exponents into the numbers in the parentheses.

When you have an exponent being multiplied directly to another exponent, you multiply the exponents together.

For example(because I am a bad explainer):

(x^{2} )^4= x^{2(4)} = x^8

(x^4)^3 = x^{4(3)} = x^{12}

When you divide an exponent by an exponent, you subtract the exponents

For example:

\frac{x^4}{x^1} =x^{4-1}=x^3

When you have a negative exponent, you move it to the other side of the fraction to make the exponent positive

For example:

x^{-3}=\frac{1}{x^3}

\frac{1}{y^{-5}}=\frac{y^5}{1}=y^5

\frac{(3a^2b)^3}{9(ab)^4}

You can think of it like this if you want:

\frac{(3^1a^2b^1)^3}{9(a^1b^1)^4}  Now multiply the outside exponents into the exponents in the parentheses

\frac{3^3a^6b^3}{9(a^4b^4)} =\frac{27a^6b^3}{9(a^4b^4)} Divide 27 and 9

\frac{3a^6b^3}{a^4b^4} =(3)(a^{6-4})(b^{3-4})=(3)(a^2)(b^{-1})=(3)(a^2)(\frac{1}{b^1})=\frac{3a^2}{b}

Your answer is \frac{3a^2}{b}

What is the meaning of the t-intercept of the altitude graph? The y-intercept?
Gnom [1K]

Answer: Hello mate!

We know that you have a graph of y vs t, and we know that this is an "altitude" graph.

Then we can assume that the y represents the altitude, and t represents the time, and this graph shows the altitude of something as a function of the time.

the t-intercept means that the graph passes through the y-axis, this means that, in this point, y is equal to zero:

Then, at the t-intercept, we have y = 0, which means that at this time (where is the intersection) the altitude is equal to zero.

The y-intercept means that the graph passes through the y-axis, where t = 0

this is the initial value of the altitude, where t = 0 usually denotes the time where we start to measure.
