AnnZ [28]

We are given

Tobias dropped a tennis ball from a height of 60 meters. The time in seconds it takes for the ball to fall 60 feet is 0.25(radical60).

so, time is

T=0.25\sqrt{60} =\frac{1}{4} \sqrt{60}

we have to approximate it's value

First approximation set:

we know that

49

we can take sqrt all the sides

\sqrt{49}

we can simplify it

7

Divide all sides by 4

\frac{7}{4}< \frac{1}{4} \sqrt{60}

Second approximation set:

7.7

Divide all sides by 4

\frac{7.7}{4}

1.925

Third approximation set:

7.74

Divide all sides by 4

\frac{7.74}{4}

1.935

so, we get

t=1.94seconds......Answer

Dilating a triangle changes the size of the triangle but does not change its shape. true or false?
____ [38]
<h3><u>Answer;</u></h3>

The correct answer<em> </em><em><u>is true</u></em>

<h3><u>Explanation;</u></h3>
  • <u>Dilation</u> is a type of transformation which stretches and reduces the size of the original figure.
  • A dilation has a center of dilation and a dilation scale factor. If the scale factor is less than one then the original size will shrink, and if the scale factor is greater than one then the figure will increase in size.
  • Dilation transformation does not alter the shape of a figure but  alters the size by making it bigger or smaller.
