Answer:

W = 7.53 inches

H = 30.14 inches

Explanation:

Printing area is:

A_p=W_o*H_o=50 in^2

Solving for H_o:

H_o=50/W_o

The total area of the paper is:

A_t=(W_o+4)*(H_o+16)   Replacing H_o:

A_t=(W_o+4)*(50/W_o+16)

If we derivate and equal zero to find the minimum:

A_t'=(50/W_o+16)+(W_o+4)*(-50/W_o^2)

0=(50/W_o+16)+(W_o+4)*(-50/W_o^2)

0=16-200/W_o^2

W_o=\sqrt{200/16}

W_o=3.53-inch   So,

H_o=14.14-inch

The final dimensions of the paper are:

W = 3.53 + 4=7.53-inch

H = 14.14 + 16= 30.14-inch

Distinguish between physical and chemical changes. Include examples in your explanations.
hram777 [196]

Answer:

Chemical changes are recognized when a substance changes its properties permanently and it cannot be the same substance as before.

Instead the physical changes implies that if you can return to the same substance through a reverse process.

Explanation:

A chemical change is, by example, a combustion, if a sheet of paper burns, its result is ashes, the ashes cannot go back to being a sheet of paper because its properties changed, heat energy was generated that changed matter permanently.

A physical change, by example, is that of freezing water, the water becomes ice, but this can easily become water again if the temperature is increased, its properties do not change and the chemistry of the substance does not change.

A car is towing a boat on a trailer. The driver starts from rest and accelerates to a velocity of +16.7 m/s in a time of 20.7 s.
frutty [35]

Answer:

F = 479.21 N

Explanation:

given,

initial velocity = 0 m/s

final velocity = 16.7 m/s

time taken = 20.7 s

combined mass of the boat and trailer = 594 kg

tension in the hitch = ?

using equation of motion

v = u + a t

16.7 = 0 + a × 20.7

a = 0.807 m/s²

Force = mass × acceleration

F = 594 × 0.807

F = 479.21 N

Hence, the tension in the hitch that connects the trailer to the car is F = 479.21 N
