What kind of peace does president Kennedy speak of in his speech at the conclusion of the film

History

Iteru [2.4K]3 years ago

This speech was delivered at the height of the Cold War<span> – an appeal for peace at a time when what President Eisenhower had described as the Military-Industrial complex was much more interested in weapons and war than peace. It was also a time when President Kennedy was sending personal representatives to Cuba in order to eventually achieve a rapprochement with Fidel Castro. The CIA was aware of these contacts by tapping the telephones of the representatives – and its leaders and right-wing friends, and above all the anti-Castro Cubans, were fiercely opposed. They were also opposed to Kennedy's plans to withdraw from Viet Nam. It was also a time when Robert F. Kennedy was making it hot for the mafia. JFK was assassinated five months later. pantera1 [17]

Answer:

First, writers of the period became disillusioned with American values and traditions. Some, like Hemingway and T. S. Eliot, escaped America after the war and expatriated to Europe. Second, the war helped inspire a revolution in style, including a focus on detached, fragmented writing which also portrayed life with gritty realism.

How did the suez and panama canals affect global industrialization
hram777 [196]

Answer:

The construction of the Suez and Panama canals had substantial impacts on global trade, mainly over two factors.

Explanation:

The first and most obvious concerns the reduction of travel distances between economic regions. The second relates to the introduction of the steamship during the same time period which was able to use more direct routes at a faster and consistent speed, compounding the gains from shorter travel distances.
