In Indian cuisine, sometimes a papaya is added to make meat cook faster. Which of the following is a plausible explanation of wh

y this method speeds the chemical changes that occur during cooking?
Enzymes in the papaya absorb energy from the meat's molecules, thereby increasing the temperature of the meat and hastening the cooking process.

Papaya contains the enzyme papain, which breaks down some of the meat's proteins, thereby hastening the cooking process.

The papaya, especially the green one, is used as a tenderizer in boiling red meat. This is because of the property of papaya's skin and leaves contain enzymes called papain. When this papain get contact to red meat the connecting tissue of the meat easily breaks down.

How is Cytochrome C, which is an important enzyme in cellular respiration, used to provide evidence for evolution
enot [183]

Answer:

Cytochrome c is known to play a role in the electron transport chain and cell apoptosis. However, a recent study has shown that it can also act as an antioxidative enzyme in the mitochondria; and it does so by removing superoxide (O2–) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) from mitochondria. Therefore, not only is cytochrome c required in the mitochondria for cell respiration, but it is also needed in the mitochondria to limit the production of O2– and H2O2.

Will fluorite scratch penny why or why not
Gekata [30.6K]
Fluorite can scratch a copper coin but cannot be scratched by a copper coin. This is because according to Mohs scale of hardness, fluorite has a hardness of four. Copper has a hardness of three. Therefore fluorite is a harder mineral than copper and will scratch copper but it will not be scratched by copper. Mohs based his scale on the fact that some minerals could scratch others. If one mineral could scratch another but could not be scratched by it, he reasoned that it must be harder.

What happens to an enzyme's structure as it<br> exceeds the typical human body temperature?
likoan [24]

Answer:

Enzyme structure begins to break down

Explanation:

The enzyme will begin to denature as the temperature in the body rises. Denaturing is when the physical structure of the enzyme loses its shape and prevents the lock and key of enzymes and substrates to occur.
