Answer:

easy :) answer is 12x-8y

Step-by-step explanation:

all you do is combine like terms

1. the 10x + 2x which is 12x

2. (this part gets tricky) you have a NEGITIVE 5 minus 3 so if you are subtracting by a negitive number you add (5+3=8) and keep the negitive (-8y)

Step-by-step explanation: On Monday Georgia practiced for 3/4 of an hour and on Tuesday she practiced for 3/8 of an hour. The difference between those two is 3/8 of an hour and when you take 3/8 of 60 minutes you get 22.5 minutes

The U.S. Energy Information Administration (US EIA) reported that the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline is $3.94 (U
tekilochka [14]

Answer:

a) 25

b) 49

c) 97

Step-by-step explanation:

The sample size is calculated using the formula, n = (\frac{\sigma\times z}{\textup{Margin of error}})^2

Now,

for 95% confidence level value of z-factor = 1.96

Given:

Mean = $3.94

standard deviation = $0.25

thus,

a) for margin of error = $0.10

n = (\frac{\sigma\times z}{\textup{Margin of error}})^2

or

n = (\frac{0.25\times1.96}{\textup{0.10}})^2

or

n = 4.9²

or

n = 24.01 ≈ 25               (Rounded off to next integer)

b) for margin of error = $0.07

n = (\frac{\sigma\times z}{\textup{Margin of error}})^2

or

n = (\frac{0.25\times1.96}{\textup{0.07}})^2

or

n = 7²

or

n = 49

c) for margin of error = $0.05

n = (\frac{\sigma\times z}{\textup{Margin of error}})^2

or

n = (\frac{0.25\times1.96}{\textup{0.05}})^2

or

n = 9.8²

or

n = 96.04 ≈ 97               (Rounded off to next integer)

A new brand of gym shoe claims to add up to 2 inches to an athlete vertical leap. Design an experiment to test this claim. State
pishuonlain [190]

Answer:

I'd think the first one would be correct. To determine whether or not athletes have an increase in vertical leap when wearing the shoes.

I'm not totally sure but this answer just seems the most correct. It would prove if the manufacturers clam is valid. You would have to other brand and models of shoes. You would also have to test the same kind of shoes ie, gym shoe vrs gym shoe instead of gym shoe vrs flip flop.

You would also have to use the different shoe on the same test group of users/athletes to keep a constant.

Hope I help.
