If the plasma membrane was permeable, but not selectively permeable, how would that affect the cell?
Lelechka [254]

Answer:

It would most likely kill the cell.

Explanation:

If a cell's membrane is fully permeable (not semi-permeable) then substances that are harmful to the cell are more than likely to enter it at one point or another, which can pretty much end up killing it.

In short, the semi-permeable membrane is there to ensure that only the useful stuff gets in and that the bad stuff stays out.

What is a potential danger of excess cholesterol in the human body?
goblinko [34]
Atherosclerosis and the obvious danger of free floating cholesterol in the blood that can circulate and deposit anywhere, even in the arteries/veins while flowing which can also cause a blockage of arteries/veins and cause an embolism. Also fatty deposits in the cell's membrane that can make it more fluid than it should be causing the cell to lose its rigid membrane structure or even making it more rigid sometimes depending on the environment.

PLS HELP ASAP, ILL MARK BRAINLIEST IF ITS A REAL ANSWER. LOOK AT THE PICTURE.
suter [353]

Answer:

Why is healthy skin important? Healthy skin is important because it is your first line of defense against bacteria and other pollutants in the environment. Healthy skin is more resilient when faced with external stresses, serves as an important sensory organ and helps to regulate our body temperature.

The outermost layer of skin, called the epidermis, produces a thin barrier layer called the stratum corneum. This layer varies throughout the body in its structure, thickness, composition and functional properties. For example, the skin on your palms and soles is thicker than on your face.

Skin changes such as wrinkling are one of the physical alterations most readily associated with aging. It may surprise you that the outer layer of the skin, the stratum corneum, changes very little as we age. The main changes occur at a deeper level. Collagen, a basic chemical building block of skin and connective tissue, decreases with age.
