A GE Lightbulb is suppose to last for 1200 hours. In fact light bulbs of this type last only 1,185 hours with a standard deviati

on of 70 hours. What is the probability that a randomly selected light bulb will have an average life of at least 1,200?

This can be solved using the formula for t test which is = x - mu over standard deviation divided by the square root of the number of samples. In this case, it is 1185 - 1200 over 70 divided by square root of 100 which give us a value of 2.14 which is equal to .9839 in area. Only rarely, just over one time in a hundred tries of 100 light bulbs, would the average life exceed 1200 hours.

Answer:

Hence,we need at least 136 rainfall PH values in the sample i.e

n ≥ 136

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that:

(σ1)^2 = (σ2)^2 = Population variance = 0.25

So, E < 0.1

Confidence coefficient (c) = 0.9

n = n1 = n2

For confidence level, 1 - α = 0.9,we'll determine Z (α /2) = Z 0.05 by looking up 0.005 using the normal probability table which i have attached.

So, Z (α /2) = 1.645

The margin of error E is given as;

E = Z (α /2)√[(σ1)^2)/n1] + [(σ2)^2)/n2]

= Z (α /2)√({(σ1)^2 + (σ2)^2}/n) < 0.1

Multiply both sides by √n to get;

Z (α /2)√(σ1)^2 + (σ2)^2} < 0.1√n

Divide both sides by 0.1;

{Z (α /2)√(σ1)^2 + (σ2)^2}}/0.1 <√n

When we square each side, we get

{Z (α /2)√(σ1)^2 + (σ2)^2}}/0.1} ^2 < n

We'll now fill in the known values and solve;

n > ( 1.645 x √{(0.25 + 0.25)/0.1}^2

n > 135.3 or approximately n > 136

Hence,we need at least 136 observations in the sample i.e

n ≥ 136

Find the value of x.<br> (x + 30)
taurus [48]

Answer:

x=55

Step-by-step explanation:

The exterior angles of a polygon add to 360.

x+x+x+x+x+x+30 = 360

Combine like terms

6x+30 = 360

Subtract 30 from each side

6x+30-30 = 360-30

6x = 330

Divide by 6

6x/6 =330/6

x =55
