7x+17=7x-17 is this an identity, conditional or inconsistent equation
miv72 [106K]
7x + 17 = 7x - 17
7x + 17 - 7x = 7x - 17 - 7x
17 = -17

Inconsistent: for no value of x is the above equation true. 17 ≠ -17.

Hope this helps! :)

Help asappppp? i’m having trouble on wat the 1/4 point is
blagie [28]

Answer:

  (-14, 5.5)

Step-by-step explanation:

Perhaps the easiest way to find the 1/4 point is to find (x, y), then find the midpoint between that and M.

  (x, y) = 2M -(13, 25) = 2(-5, 12) -(13, 25) = (-23, -1)

Then the 1/4 point is ...

  ((-23, -1) +M)/2 = ((-23, -1) +(-5, 12))/2 = (-28, 11)/2 = (-14, 5.5)

_____

If we call the end points A(x, y) and B(13, 25), then we know ...

  M = (A+B)/2

  A = 2M -B . . . . we'll need this in a bit

and the 1/4 point Q is such that ...

  (Q -A)/(B -A) = 1/4

  4Q -4A = B -A . . . . cross multipliy

  Q = (B +3A)/4 = (B +3(2M -B))/4 = (6M -2B)/4 . . . . solve for Q

  Q = (3M -B)/2 . . . . reduce the fractions

  Q = (3(-5, 12) -(13, 25))/2 = (-28, 11)/2 = (-14, 5.5) . . . as above

a. What is the area and circumference of circle P? Explain how you calculated this answer. b. If the arc measure of arc COD is 1
Vikki [24]

Answer:

a) 9*π or approx 28.26

b) ∡CRB=100°

Step-by-step explanation:

As known for secants crossing each other inside the circle is coorect the following:

BR*RD=AR*RC

=> 3*RD=4*4.5

RD=6

The diameter of the circle with center P is BD=BR+RD=3+6=9

So the radius of the circle is D/2=9/2=4.5

As known the circumference of any circle can be calculated as

C=2*π*r  , where r is the circle's  radius

So C=2*4.5*π=9*π= approx   3.14*9=28.26

b) ∡CRB=∡ARD= (arcBC+arcAD),  where arcBC and arcAD smaller arcs

BD is the circle's  diameter, so arc BD=180°

So arcBC=180°-arcCOD=180°-100°=80°

Similarly arcBD=180°

arcAD=180°-arcBSA=180°-60°=120°

∡CRB= (80°+120°)/2=100°

Factoring trinomials
Tcecarenko [31]

c^22c^2 + 13c +21 \\4c^2 + 13(2)c + 42\\(2c + 6)(2c+7)\\(c+3)(2c+7)

This is a way to factoring trinomials (there exist different equivalent methods).

Multiply the trinomial but the term accompanying  c^2. This is the second line. Then, you could take the square of the 4c^2, ant try to create a factor () () that will correspond to the expression in the second line. That is, we want 4c^2 + 13(2) c + 42 = (2c + ?) (2c + ?)

In ? we put the corresponding numbers that, if we multiply them we will obtain 42, and if we add them we will obtain 13. This numbers are 6 and 7. Then, we have (2c + 6) (2c +7)

The last step is divide by the number that we multipy in the first step.
