Explanation

A therapeutic counselling with a couple can be both a challenge as well as rewarding endeavor. In policy making and making guidelines for the psychotherapy with the couples, it is necessary to identify the definition of the client and consider the responsibilities for the couple.

If the therapist does hold any individual assessment class with a couple or has an outside contact with one any of the partner, the therapist must know how to manage any secrets of theirs or some other information which had not been shared within either of the couple.

When confronting with the secrets divulged by any one member of a couple,  a therapist may keep all the secrets confidential so that to maintain trust with each partner and also to respect the rights of each individual.
