The length of the support post is 40 ft.

<u>Solution:</u>

Given, the height of the wall is 20 ft; support post forms 30 degree

Refer the attached image

Let us name the triangle as ABC where AB is the wall (opposite side) of 20 ft and \angle A is 30 degree (\theta) and AC is the length of the post.

To find: The length of the post (AC)

we know the formula, sin\theta=\frac{opp}{hyp} (trigonometric formula)

On substituting the values we get,

\Rightarrow sin(30^{\circ})=\frac{20}{AC}

The value of sin 30 degree is 0.5

\Rightarrow 0.5=\frac{20}{AC}\rightarrow AC=\frac{20}{0.5}\rightarrow AC=40 ft

Find the distance between each pair of points. Round your answer to the nearest tenth. (-6, -5) and (2, 0)
Anna71 [15]

Answer:

The answer is

<h2>9.4 units</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

The distance between two points can be found by using the formula

d =  \sqrt{ ({x1 - x2})^{2} +  ({y1 - y2})^{2}  }  \\

where

(x1 , y1) and (x2 , y2) are the points

From the question the points are

(-6, -5) and (2, 0)

The distance between them is

d =  \sqrt{ ({ - 6 - 2})^{2} +  ({ - 5 - 0})^{2}  }  \\  =  \sqrt{ ({ - 8})^{2}  + ( { - 5})^{2} }  \\  =  \sqrt{64 + 25}  \\  =  \sqrt{89}  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \\  = 9.4339811

We have the final answer as

<h3>9.4 units to the nearest tenth</h3>

Hope this helps you

The population of white rhinos in 2001 was 11,670. The population is declining by 9% each year. What is the population expected
aksik [14]

You see I need to know also the reproduction rate as well to equalize it. If 9% of the population declines each year from 2001 to 2021, around 21,006 would die by 2021. Which is 180% more than the population. If the reproduction rate isn't high enough to beat the declination rates, they'd be extinct by then.
