An automobile company manufactures hatchbacks, sedans, and sports cars. The company conducted a magazine survey to determine the

demand for its cars in each of these categories. The results of the survey showed that 78% of those polled preferred hatchbacks, 19% voted for sedans, and 3% voted for sports cars.

If we sum up or total the given percentages, it will give us 100%. The number of cars being sedan which the company should manufacture must be equal to the 15,000 cars per month times the percentage of sedans.
                  sedan cars = (15,000 cars/month) x (0.19) = 2850 cars/ month
Thus, out of the 15,000 cars that the company is planning to manufacture, 2,850 of which should be sedan.
