A dime is 1/2 if i have 5 end to end how long would they be

If each is $\frac{1}{2}$ units long and you place 0f them end to end

Then all the five dime will be

$5\times\frac{1}{2} =2.5$ units long

Or you could add all 5  to get

$\frac{1}{2}+ \frac{1}{2}+\frac{1}{2}+\frac{1}{2}+\frac{1}{2}=\frac{5}{2}=2.5$ units
