Determine part of the job that has been done by the father.
The father did for an hour before the son took over, and he could complete the job within 4 hours. That means he already did \frac{1}{4} of the job.
The finished job = \dfrac{\text{time of work}}{\text{time needed to do whole job}}
The finished job = \dfrac{\text{1 hour}}{\text{4 hours}}
The finished job = \dfrac{1}{4}

Determine part of the remaining job
remaining job = 1 - the finished job
remaining job = 1 - \frac{1}{4}
remaining job = \frac{3}{4}
The remaining job for the son is 3/4 of the job

Determine time needed to do 3/4 of the job
time needed = \frac{3}{4} \times \text{time needed to do whole job}
time needed = \frac{3}{4} \times 3
time needed = \frac{9}{4}
time needed = 2 \frac{1}{4} hours
time needed = 2 hours + 15 minutes

To finish mowing the lawn, the son needs 2 hours and 15 minutes

Graph the function. For the function whose graph is shown below, which is the correct formula for the function? y = –x – 1 y = x
rusak2 [61]
You forgot to mention the graph.
So, I make the graph of both given functions and you will compare your graph with them.

First, y= -x-1
put y=0 you get point (-1,0) called x-intercept
put x=0 you get point (0,-1) called y-intercept
join both the points, you will get the graph
Graph is attached in the picture.

Second, y= x+1
put y=0 you get point (-1,0) called x-intercept
put x=0 you get point (0,1) called y-intercept
join both the points, you will get the graph
Graph is attached in the picture.

A researcher conducted a hypothesis test to see if students on average spend more than 1 hour per homework assignment. The level
grandymaker [24]

Answer:

a. True

Step-by-step explanation:

By ∝= 5% we mean that there are about 5 chances in 100 of incorrectly rejecting a true null hypothesis. To put it in another way , we say that we are 95% confident in making the correct decision.

In the given question the null hypothesis is

H0: u ≤ 1 hour and Ha:  u > 1 hour

So there is a 5% chance that the erroneous conclusion will be made that students spend on average more than 1 hour per assignment.

The given statement is true.
