Victoria is a manager at a makeup company. She has two makeup artists, Taylor and Lauren. Taylor can complete a large project in

6 hours. Brianne can complete the project in 8 hours. Victoria wants to know how long it will take them to complete the project together. Write an equation and solve for the time it takes Taylor and Lauren to complete the project together. Explain each step.

The rate of how many projects Taylor can complete can be modeled at x/6 and Brianne can be modelled as x/8. So, by combining the functions and setting equal to 1, you can solve.

x/6 + x/8 = 1

You have to give common demoninators

4x/24 + 3x/24 = 1

Then add together and cross multiply. Giving you an answer of 24/7 or roughly 3.43 hours when rounded to the nearest hundredth.

If p = .8 and n = 50, then we can conclude that the sampling distribution of pˆ is approximately a normal distribution
FrozenT [24]

Answer:

Yes we can conclude.

Step-by-step explanation:

The sampling distribution of \hat{p} can be approximated as a Normal Distribution only if:

np and nq are both equal to or greater than 10. i.e.

  • np ≥ 10
  • nq ≥ 10

Both of these conditions must be met in order to approximate the sampling distribution of \hat{p} as Normal Distribution.

From the given data:

n = 50

p = 0.80

q = 1 - p = 1 - 0.80 = 0.20

np = 50(0.80) = 40

nq = 50(0.20) = 10

This  means the conditions that np and nq must be equal to or greater than 10 is being satisfied. So, we can conclude that the sampling distribution of pˆ is approximately a normal distribution

A recent survey of 8,000 high school students found that the mean price of a prom dress was $195.00 with a standard deviation of
KiRa [710]

To calculate the z-statistic, we must first calculate the standard error.

Standard error is standard deviation divided by the square root of the population. In this case, it is equal to 2.68.

The z-score is defined the distance from the sample to the population mean in units of standard error.

z = (195 – 208)/2.68 = -4.86
