Answer:

b = -6

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

y=6x+b ----- (eq 1)

and

-3x+1/2y=-3    (Rearrange this equation to look likes eq (1) , add -3x to both sides)

(1/2) y = 3x - 3   (multiply both sides by 2)

y = 2(3x -3)   (distribute the 2 into parentheses)

y = 6x - 6 -----(eq 2)

Recall that a system of equations will have an infinite number of solutions if both equations are the same line.  (i.e they have the same slope and y intercept)

In our case, if you compare eq 1 and eq 2, the way to make both equations the same line is if b = -6. (this is the answer)

George ran 1.1 miles, took a break, and then ran 2.1 more miles. How many meters did George run in all?
vazorg [7]
First, you would need to calculate how many miles George ran.
1.1 mi + 2.1 mi = 3.2 mi

Now, 1 mile = 1,609.34 meters, so you would multiply the number of meters per mile by the number of miles.
3.2 × 1,609.34 = 5,149.9 meters

George ran 5,149.9 meters in all.

I hope this helps!

What is f−1(f(x)) = f(f−1(x)) = equal to????? please help
wel

the assumption here is that the function f(x), has an inverse function of f⁻¹(x), so let's assume that is indeed the case, f⁻¹(x) is the inverse function of f(x).

for functions and their inverse, if they're indeed inverse of each other, then

f⁻¹( f(x) ) = x

f( f⁻¹(x) ) = x.
