Answer:

-30.0 ºC

Explanation:

The freezing point depression of a solution is given by the relation:

ΔT = - Kf m, where Kf is the  molal freezing point constant  of water, and m is the molality of the solute.

The molality, in turn, is given by:

m = mol solute / Kg solvent

We are not given in this question the identity of the  solute, but the most typical component in antifreeze  is ethylene glycol, and that is what we are going to use here.

We now have all the information required to solve this question.

In 100 grams of fluid we have:

Molar mass ethylene glycol = 62.07 g/mol

mol ethyle glycol = 50 g / 62.07 g/mol = 0.81 mol

Kg solvent = 50 g/ 1000 g/ Kg = 0.050 Kg

m = 0.81 mol / 0.050 Kg = 16.1 m

ΔT = - Kf m = -1.86 ºC/m x 16.1 m = -30.0 ºC

Please give a brief explanation on all the types of clouds, like stratus, Stratocumulus and etc
blondinia [14]
When water on land or in the ocean evaporates - turns from a liquid to water vapor - it rises. The water vapor cools and turns back into a liquid in the shape of tiny droplets. The result is clouds, unless it's on the ground - then we call it fog. When enough droplets get together they fall to the ground as rain or if it's very cold, they freeze and fall down as snow, sleet or hail. Clouds play an important role in the energy balance of Earth. They cool the earth by reflecting sunlight back out to space. How else do you think astronauts see where they are going? More importantly, clouds replenish our water supply. It's a never-ending cycle but one that keeps the earth balanced. You can tell a lot by looking at a cloud's shape, size and texture. Clouds are put into categories according to their shape, how high they are in the sky, their size, how fast and in what direction they are moving, etc. The three different types of clouds are high clouds (because they are high in the sky), medium clouds and low clouds (just over 10,000 feet high or 3 km.)

18. give the product for the following reactions sequence. a) 3-pentanone b) 2-pentanone c) propanone d) 2-butanone e) methyl pr
serg [7]

The product for the following reaction are :

  • 2 - butanone
  • CH₃CH₂COCl
  • CH₃CH₂CONHCH₃

T carboxylic acid is an organic compound. the functional group of carboxylic acid is carboxy. general formula is given as : R - COO⁻.

The reactions are given as follows :

1) the reduction of carboxylic acid into ketone with the organometallic compound is given as follows :

CH₃CH₂COOH     +  CH₃Li   ------>   CH₃CH₂COCH₃

                                                                  2 butanone

2) the reaction of carboxylic acid with SOCl₂ is given as follows :

CH₃CH₂COOH    +   SOCl₂   ----->   CH₃CH₂COCl

3) the reaction of carboxylic acid with CH₃NH₂ is given as follows

CH₃CH₂COOH  +   CH₃NH₂   ----->   CH₃CH₂CONHCH₃

Thus,  The product for the following reaction are :

  • 2 - butanone
  • CH₃CH₂COCl
  • CH₃CH₂CONHCH₃

Which of the following is an exothermic reaction?
defon

Chemical reactions can be broadly classified into two categories from the context of heat requirement. These include; endothermic and exothermic reactions.

Endothermic reactions proceed with the absorption of heat while exothermic reactions are accompanied by the evolution of heat.

1) Oxidation of iron involves reaction of elemental iron with oxygen to form iron oxide (rust). This is essentially a corrosion reaction in which the metallic bonds in Fe are broken and new bonds between Fe and O are formed, This is an exothermic reaction

4Fe + 3O2 → 2Fe2O3

Ans D)

2) The process of condensation i.e. phase change liquid to solid (or gas to liquid) involves release of heat to the surroundings, hence it will be an exothermic reaction.

Ans B)

3) Specific heat is the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of 1 g of a substance by a 1 C. Typically, liquids and gases are used as coolants. For a coolant to be efficient, it must have a high specific heat.

Ans B)
