Why do the spectra of the molecular species show broader bands compared to atomic spectra such as that seen for the hydrogen ato

m?
Chemistry

Explanation:

The  atomic spectrum is more like the transitions of electrons among electronic energy levels in an isolated atom. Atomic spectrum is mainly affected by interaction of the transitioning electrons between the nuclei spins and between the other electrons in the same atom.

However, molecular spectrum involve transition of electrons in molecules with two and more atoms(it can be in the same or different). Also, the valence electrons are now in different orbitals than that of  the atomic orbitals and the orbital structure has changed the electronic transitions are different

The term that describes two or more objects in a system reaching the same temperature is
Galina-37 [17]

The correct answer is Thermal Equilibrium

Explanation:

The term "thermal equilibrium" is used when two or more objects have the same temperature and therefore there is not an exchange of heat between them. This occurs when the objects had a different temperature at the beginning but due to a close contact heat is transferred from one object to the other until an equilibrium or same temperature is reached. For example, a hot cup over a table or any other surface will transfer the heat to the surface, but after some time both the cup and the surface will have the same temperature or will reach thermal equilibrium.

0.00000000082 -<br> scientific notation
Nadusha1986 [10]

Answer:

8.2 x 106^-11

Explanation:

To begin this problem you must remember the basic rule of scientific notation, which is, must be between 1-10. .000000000082 is much smaller than 1. However by moving the decimal 11 spots to the right, we can make it 8.2

Continue to move the decimal to the right until the value is in the 1-10 range. Make sure to count the moves to the right.

Once the decimal is in the right spot count the spots moved.

Since the number is wayyy smaller than the answer given the number will be negative 10^-11, in order to make it what is was before.
