Given :

Median salary of engineer , E = $55,000 .

Median salary of computer engineer , C = $52,000 .

To Find :

The total cost for a business to employ two engineers and three programmers for 1 year .

Solution :

Now , cost of paying two engineers .

C_e=\$2\times 55000\\\\C_e=\$110000

Also , cost of paying three programmers .

C_p=3\times 52000\\\\C_p=\$156000

Therefore , total cost for 1 year is \$(110000+156000)=\$266000 .

Hence , this is the required solution .

Dimas [21]

Answer:

B) 700 mg to 740 mg.

Step-by-step explanation:

Because the mean is the average of a data set, it means that there must be data above and below this value.

If the average is 720 mg, in the range there must be values that exceed this value and others that are below this.

We will analyze each of the options.

A) 740 mg to 780 mg.

There are values above 720, but not below 720.

B) 700 mg to 740 mg.

In this case, there are values below and above 720.

C) 680 mg to 720 mg.

There are only values below 720.

D) 660 mg to 700 mg.

There are only values below 720.

E) 620 mg to 660 mg.

There are only values below 720.

Therefore the answer is B) 700 mg to 740 mg. Since it fulfills the premise that guarantees the mean.

Please help, basic algebra. Find the value of x
Helga [31]

Answer:  x = 131

Reasoning: Alternate interior angle theorem

The angles shown are inside the parallel lines, so they are interior angles. They are also considered alternate angles because they are on alternating sides of the transversal cut. Alternate interior angles are congruent when we have parallel lines like this.

Without solving, determine the number of real solutions for each quadratic equation.
masha68 [24]

Answer:

1. x^2 − 4x + 3 = 0

b^2 -4ac = (-4)^2 -4(1)*(3)= 4 >0 So we have two real solutions

2. 2n^2 + 7 = −4n + 5

b^2 -4ac = (4)^2 -4(2)*(2)= 0 So we just one real solution

3. x − 3x^2 = 5 + 2x − x^2

b^2 -4ac = (1)^2 -4(2)*(5)= -19 No real solutions

4. 4x + 7 = x^2 − 5x + 1

b^2 -4ac = (-9)^2 -4(1)*(-6)= 105 >0 So we have two real solutions

Step-by-step explanation:

1. x^2 − 4x + 3 = 0

We need to compare this function with the general equation for a quadratic formula given by:

f(x) = ax^2 + bx + c

On this case we see that a=1, b = -4 and c =3

We can find the discriminat with the following formula:

\sqrt{b^2 -4ac}

b^2 -4ac = (-4)^2 -4(1)*(3)= 4 >0 So we have two real solutions

2. 2n^2 + 7 = −4n + 5

We can rewrite the expression like this:

2n^2 +4n +2

On this case we see that a=2, b = 4 and c =2

We can find the discriminat with the following formula:

\sqrt{b^2 -4ac}

b^2 -4ac = (4)^2 -4(2)*(2)= 0 So we just one real solution

3. x − 3x^2 = 5 + 2x − x^2

We can rewrite the expression like this:

2x^2 +x +5

On this case we see that a=2, b = 1 and c =5

We can find the discriminat with the following formula:

\sqrt{b^2 -4ac}

b^2 -4ac = (1)^2 -4(2)*(5)= -19 No real solutions

4. 4x + 7 = x^2 − 5x + 1

We can rewrite the expression like this:

x^2 -9x -6

On this case we see that a=1, b = -9 and c =-6

We can find the discriminat with the following formula:

\sqrt{b^2 -4ac}

b^2 -4ac = (-9)^2 -4(1)*(-6)= 105 >0 So we have two real solutions
