Lyra and Donna are testing the two-way radios they built for their high school science project. Lyra goes to the top of a buildi

ng that is 22 meters high with one of the radios and stands directly above the building’s entrance. Donna walks out of the entrance, perpendicular to the building, with the other radio. If Donna is more than 50 meters from the entrance, the connection between the radios breaks. What is the range of communication for the two radios to the nearest meter? A) 50 meters B) 55 meters C) 62 meters D) 72 meters

This question is far easier to understand if we draw it out. I've included an image attachment to help show the relationships of the measurements. As we can see from the image, their positioning helps form a triangle that we can use the Pythagorean Theorem to find the connection range.
The Theorem is a^2 + b^2 = c^2 where a and b are the legs and c is the hypotenuse.

22^2 + 50^2 = c^2
484 + 2500 = c^2
2984= c^2
\sqrt{2984} = c
54.63 = c
So the answer to the nearest meter is 55 meters.

Use the Distributive Property to write an expression that is equivalent to 6(p+q).
tatiyna

The Distributive Property shows that 6(p + q) is equivalent to 6p + 6q

The distributive property tells us how to solve expressions in the form of a(b + c).  The distributive property is sometimes called the distributive law of multiplication and division. It is given by:

a(b + c) = ab + ac

Given the expression:

6(p + q)

Using the distributive property:

= 6p + 6q

Square root of 550 simplified. Please show work. 10 pts and brainliest answer, for whoever is right and shows good enough work.
Svetlanka [38]
Factor 550: 550=5×5×2×11
to square root a number, you look for pairs of factors. Here you have a pair of 5s, so when you square root them, you get one 5. whatever factor that does not make a pair stays inside the square root sign.
√550=√(5^2×22)=5√22

In ΔXYZ, the measure of ∠Z=90°, XZ = 63, ZY = 16, and YX = 65. What ratio represents the sine of ∠X?
Zielflug [23.3K]

Answer:

The value of sine of ∠X is 0.2461

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the following in the question:

\triangle XYZ

∠Z = 90°

XZ = 63, ZY = 16, and YX = 65

We have to find the ration of sine of ∠X.

Relation:

\sin (x) = \dfrac{\text{Perpendicular}}{\text{Hypotenuse}}\\\\=\dfrac{ZY}{YX}\\\\=\dfrac{16}{65} = 0.2461

The attached image shows the triangle.

The value of sine of ∠X is 0.2461

Which of the following can you use in proving that the slope of l is equal to the slope of n
maks197457 [2]

Answer:

C. YZ/XZ=ST/RT

Step-by-step explanation:

If the 2 lines are parallel then the slopes should be equal. The slope is rise over run so C is the right answer.
