Given the differential equation x′=−(x+3)(x+1)3(x−1)2(x−2.5). List the constant (i.e. equilibrium) solutions to this differentia

Answer:

X_{1}=-3       Stable

X_{2}=-1       Instable

X_{3}=1        Semistable

X_{4}=2.5    Instable

Step-by-step explanation:

Equilibrium constant solutions (or critical points) occur whenever x′ = f(x) = 0

x′=−(x+3)(x+1)3(x−1)2(x−2.5)=0

X_{1}=-3

X_{2}=-1

X_{3}=1

X_{4}=2.5

we can see the plot of x′ = f(x) in the figure annexed. In order to analyse the stability of the constant solutions, we must see how the function changes around the constant solutions X's:

(i.) If f(x) < 0 on the left of X, and f(y) > 0 on the right of

X, then the equilibrium solution is unstable.

(ii.) If f(X) > 0 on the left of X, and f(y) < 0 on the right of

X, then the equilibrium solution y = c is stable.

(iii.) If f(x) > 0 on both sides of X, or f(x) < 0 on both

sides of c, then the equilibrium solution y = X is

semistable.

Then:

X_{1}=-3       Stable

X_{2}=-1       Instable

X_{3}=1        Semistable

X_{4}=2.5    Instable

Mr. Chang’s class has 28 students, StartFraction 4 Over 7 EndFraction of whom are girls. Which equation shows how to determine t
Olegator [25]

Answer:

Okay, so we know a number of students and the amount of girls as a bracket. So what we have to do now is multiply them with each other.

28 *4/7 = 16

So there are 16 girls in Mr. Chang´s class.

You can also determine the boys by - the students with the girls:

28-16=12 boys

Have a nice day :D

Mr. Drumm is purchasing tickets for a school museum visit. The Museum of Natural History charges a $25 group fee plus $5 per stu
Greeley [361]

Answer:

10 tickets

Step-by-step explanation:

25 + 5x = 35 + 4x

solve for x:

subtract 25 from both sides...

5x = 35 - 25 + 4x

subtract 4x from both sides...

5x - 4x = 10

x = 10, 10 tickets.
