The pantheon is a former Roman temple in Rome, Italy. It is one of the best preserved of all the Ancient Roman buildings. It is a large circular dome cella with a "portico" which is a conventional temple front and was unique in Roman architecture.

The weight of "The pantheon" constituted a Roman concrete of 4,535- tonne weight that is concentrated on a ring of 9.1 metres (30ft) in diameter that forms the Oculus; it has a 19- foot thick rotunda topped with a solid dome. The top of the rotunda wall features series of brick relieving arches, visible both on the inside and outside. The interior of the pantheon done was once painted blue to symbolize and represent the arched vault of the heavens. The Oculus at the top is 30ft and wide, and is not covered. It serves as the only source of entry for natural light and air.

Conclusively, serving as the best preserved example of an Ancient Roman monumental buildings, the pantheon has been influential and inspired several other architectural works such as "The Church of Santa Marla Assunta of 1664 in Ariccia by Gian Lorenzo Bernini; The Belle isle houseof 1774 in England; Thomas Jefferson's Library at 'the University of Virgina', The Rotunda(1817-1826) and the Rotunda of Mosta in Malta of 1833" to mention a few.
