Given that the CFL bulb is rated at 10% efficiency, if the LED bulb consumes half the amount of electrical power, for the same a

mount of usable light power output, what is the efficiency of the LED bulb? Similarly, if the INC bulb consumes 10x the amount of electrical power as the CFL bulb, for the same amount of usable light power output, what is the efficiency of the INC bulb?

Answer and explanation:

The efficiency of the LED bulb is 20% while The efficiency of the Inc bulb is 1%.

The lightbulb efficiency can be defined as the quotient between the amount of usable light and the amount of electrical power output. For the efficiency of the CFL Bulb:

\epsilon_{CFL}=\frac{L_0}{P_0}=0.1

Therefore:

\epsilon_{led}=\frac{L_0}{0.5P_0}=2 \cdot0.1=0.2\\\epsilon_{INC}=\frac{L_0}{10P_0}=0.1 \cdot 0.1=0.01

Both the electrical force and the gravitational force between two objects share which relationship?
julia-pushkina [17]

Answer:

B. They are inversely proportional to the square of the distance.

Explanation:

The gravitational force between two objects is given by:

F_G = G \frac{m_1 m_2}{r^2}

where

G is the gravitational constant

m1, m2 are the masses of the two objects

r is the distance between the two objects

While the electrical force is given by

F_E = k \frac{q_1 q_2}{r^2}

where

k is the Coulomb's constant

q1, q2 are the charges of the two objects

r is the distance between the two objects

As we see from the two equations, both forces are inversely proportional to the square of the distance, so the correct option is

B. They are inversely proportional to the square of the distance.

A spaceship is moving at 0.74 c (0.74 times the speed of light) with respect to the earth. An observer on the spaceship measures
olya-2409 [2.1K]

Answer:

The time interval is 22.76 hr.

Explanation:

Given that,

Time = 30 hrs

Speed = 0.74c

We need to calculate the time interval measured in earth frame

Using formula of time dilation

\Delta t=\dfrac{\Delta t_{0}}{\sqrt{1-\dfrac{v^2}{c^2}}}

Where, \Delta t = time interval measured in earth frame

\Delta t_{0}=proper time interval

Put the value into the formula

\Delta t=\dfrac{30}{\sqrt{1-\dfrac{0.74c^2}{c^2}}}

\Delta t=\dfrac{30}{\sqrt{1-(0.74)^2}}

\Delta t=\dfrac{30}{0.6726}

\Delta t=44.60\ hr

We need to calculate the proper time interval when the velocity is 0.86c

Using formula of time dilation

44.60=\dfrac{\Delta t_{0}}{\sqrt{1-\dfrac{0.86c^2}{c^2}}}

\Delta t_{0}=44.60\times\sqrt{1-(0.86)^2}

\Delta t_{0}=22.76\ hr

Hence, The time interval is 22.76 hr.

Which equation(s) are used to detect the presence of dark matter in galaxies? A) Doppler shift equation B) Kepler's 3rd Law C) W
Talja [164]

Answer: D) A and B (Doppler shift equation and Kepler's 3rd Law)

Explanation:

According to Kepler’s  3rd Law of Planetary motion <em>“The square of the orbital period of a planet is proportional to the cube of the semi-major axis (size) of its orbit”.  </em>

<em />

So, this law establishes a relation between the orbital period of a body orbiting a greater body in space with the size of its orbit. <u>This leads to the fact that a small body can be caught by the gravitational attraction of a massive body and the time it takes to the smaller body to orbit the massive body is proportional to the size of its orbit.</u>

On the other hand, the Doppler shift equation is related to the Doppler effect and refers to the change in a wave perceived frequency (or wavelength=color) when the emitter of the waves, and the observer move relative to each other. From there, it is deduced that the farther the galaxy is, the more redshifted it is in its spectrum proving the expansion of the universe.

Now, this equation can be applied in order to analyze the velocity of the stars within a galaxy (as Vera Rubin did), and then galaxy rotation curves can be obtained. However, in this type of diagram it is observed a characteristic behavior in the rotation speed of the stars within the galaxies, which differs from the rules of the orbital movement postulated by Kepler.

This means that in these galaxy rotation curves it has been observed that the rotation speed of stars is "constant", regardless of the distance to the center of the galaxy. This discrepancy is used to detect the existence of dark matter in galaxies and the universe.
