To begin with, a political machine is an organization in which an organization gains support via promising rewards to those who keep them in power. It's designed to keep a particular group in power by promising favors. Typically, immigrants who first arrived here were impoverished, so political machines became so successful because they would promise to set immigrants up with homes or jobs or food so long as they had their vote.
So in short:

Who: Organizations whose main goals were getting and keeping power.

What: They essentially bribed immigrants for their votes.

Why: Political Machines did this to stay in power.

What would you identify as Roosevelt’s three most important contributions to progressive reform?
DENIUS [597]

Leading the progressive movement, Roosevelt promoted his "Square Deal" domestic initiatives.

Following an examination of the meat packing industry, Theodore Roosevelt backed the creation of the Pure Food and Drug Act. He dismantled a monopoly by utilizing the Sherman Antitrust Act as well. By 1901, state borders could no longer contain the reform upheaval. Furthermore, solutions were urgently needed for some issues that only the federal government seemed to be able to handle.

Roosevelt led his supporters out of the Republican convention after becoming convinced that his nomination had been stolen by the establishment. The Progressive ("Bull Moose") Party was established in August, with Roosevelt chosen to serve as its leader. The reform Republican governor of California, Hiram Johnson, was chosen as Roosevelt's running mate.

What were the pull-push factors for European emigration to America?
Gre4nikov [31]

Answer:

Pull factors:

America had a lot of undeveloped land that European farmers could easily obtain, and work.

America had a developing economy, where industry was growing very fast, and demand for workers was accordingly high.

America had a political structure that protected civil rights such as freedom of religion, freedom of speech, and freedom of assembly.

Push factors:

Many areas in Europe were overpopulated in regards to the productivity of the land, and this caused frequent famines, land conflicts, and political instability.

Many areas in Europe had tyrannical governments were civil liberties were not respected.

Europe had several religious denominations that were persecuted all over the land, and this prompted their members to emigrate to the United States where they would enjoy the freedom to practice their faith.
