4)
I:3x+4y=67
II:5x-y=35

to eliminate y when they are added one of the equations must contain -ay and the other +ay (with a being some number)
in this case we have in I already a positive term and in II a negative, but they have different numbers
by using multiplication (property of equations) we can multiply II by 4 so the negative and positive parts match

II*4: 20x-4y=140

when I and 4*II get added this results in
3x+20x+4y-4y=67+140
23x=207

5)
in this case I and II were added which can be seen in the left side of the equation((3x+4y)+(5x-y)=8x+3y), so to get the right side we have to also add the right sides 67+35=102

so the full equation would be:
8x+3y=102

What is the area of a triangular base?
goblinko [34]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

A triangular prism has a triangular base. Finding a triangle's area requires two known quantities: base, labeled b, and height, labeled h. Base is the length of one of the triangle's sides, height is the distance from that side to the opposite corner of the triangle.

The Suarez family paid $15.75 for 3 movie tickets.how much would they have paid for 12tickets?
Oduvanchick [21]
I see that 12 tickets is 4 times the 3 movie tickets.
So how much they pay for 12 tickets will also be 4 times the old amount of $15.75.

4*$15.75 = $63

You could also find how much one movie ticket is, then multiply the cost of one ticket by 12.
The cost of one ticket would be $15.75 / 3 = $5.25
Then 12 tickets would be 12($15.25) = $63
