Answer:

x = -2  y = 3

Step-by-step explanation:

Equation 1:  y = -x + 1

Equation 2: 23 = 5y -4x

Take and plug in what y equals (from equation 1) into equation 2

23 = 5(-x+1) - 4x

23 = -5x + 5 - 4x

23 = -9x + 5

18 = -9x

x = -2

Then plug the -2 in to the first equation for x

y = -(-2) + 1

y = 2 + 1

y = 3

Answer:

final answer x= -2, y=3

Step-by-step explanation:

y= -x +1 (1)

23=5y-4x --> 5y=4x+23  (2)

Substitute (1) into (2)

5(-x+1)=4x+23

-5x+5=4x+23

-5x-4x=23-5

-9x=18

x=-2

substitute x=2 into (1) y=-(-2)+1, y=3

What is the sum of the geometric series in which a1 = 7, r = 3, and an = 1,701?
Tema [17]
Answer: The sum of the series is 2,548.

In a geometric series, the values are being multiplied by a constant rate. In this series, we are started at 7 and multiplying by 3.

Our series would be:
7   21   63   189   567   1701

If we add up those values, we have a total of 2,548.

dem82 [27]
Their sum can be both equal, or greater. If you have 3/8 and 6/8, you would get 9/8 or 1 and 1/8. Which is greater than 1. Also if you add 2/6 and 4/6, you get 6/6 or 1. proving that both are possible.

4 &lt; 4x- 16<br> Please answer!
anzhelika [568]

Answer:

First you need to get your variable(x) by itself.

You do that by adding 16 to both sides of the greater than sign.

The 16 cancels or goes away. and 16 + 4 =20.

Your new equation is 20<4x

Finally you divide 20 by 4 to get 5

Your answer is 5<x or x>5.
