1. In your own words, what is one-way analysis of variance used for (Section 12-2)? 2. In your own words, if we want to test for

equality of the three means in a sample, why don’t we use three separate hypothesis tests for W3D1 (Section 12-2)? 3. In your own words, what is the main difference between one-way analysis of variance and two-way analysis of variance (Section 12-3)?

Answer:

The one-way analysis of variance isused to determine if there are statisticallysignificant differences between the means oftwo or more independent groups.

If we use three separate hypothesis tests, wewill have type I error associated with each testand that would lead to more risk of committingtype I error. The use of one-way ANOVA helpsus to solve this problem by comparing two ormore groups using a single type I error usually5%.

The main difference between one-wayANOVA and two-way ANOVA is that:One-way ANOVA has one factor or oneindependent variable, while the two-way ANOVAhas two factors or two independent variables.

What is y squared + 2 y - 35 / y + 7
lutik1710 [3]

Answer:

y - 5

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

\frac{y^2+2y-35}{y+7}

Factorise the numerator

y² + 2y - 35 = (y + 7)(y - 5), thus fraction can be expressed as

\frac{(y+7)(y-5)}{y+7}

Cancel the factor (y + 7) on the numerator/ denominator, leaving

y - 5

Is 50 a perfect square ? Explain your answer please
xeze [42]
No, 50 is not a perfect square.  A perfect square is any number that can be divided by any number to get the quotient as the same number AND the quotient must be rational.  When you divide 50 so that the quotient equals the divisor, you will get an irrational number.  Therefore, 50 is not a perfect square.
