Answer:

The feeding strategy employed by the predatory tunicate is known as; Filter Feeding

Explanation:

The image of the predatory tunicate is attached to this answer

Feeding in the aquatic environment is not as simple as it is in the terrestrial, because the food and the water are of equal density, so an attempt to close the mouth at the food will push both the water and the food away, so one mechanism that aquatic animals have adopted in feeding is known as suspension feeding. Suspension feeding is a feeding mechanism in aquatic environment where animals engulf suspended food particles in water and uses associated mechanisms to strain out the food, and filter feeding is a sub-type of suspension feeding.

Filter feeding is a mechanism where organisms isolate food suspension particles from water, by passing the water through specialized filtering structures. Some animals such as; Krill, Clams, Sponges, certain fishes and even Flamingos have this kind of feeding method.

In this method of feeding by the predatory tunicate, it opens its large mouth to create a negative pressure in its mouth, which directs water current towards its mouth, hence carrying suspensions with it, after the food particle has entered its mouth, it closes its mouth to trap the food particle and this closure of mouth forces water through an outlet that is designed not to let the larger food particles to pass out, but allowing water to move out.

Select the true statementabout unmyelinated axons:A. action potentials occur everywhere along the length of the axon, and propag
butalik [34]

Answer:

The correct statement is - option B.

Explanation:

Unmyelinated axons are the axon that lacks the covering of scwann cells that form the myelin sheath which helps in the transfer or transmit the signals faster and more effectively in neurons. It acts as the insulating layer.

In absence of the myelin sheath, the action potential found everywhere along the length of the axon which leads to slow propagation than in myelinated axons.

Thus, the correct answer is - option B.

What are the genotypic and phenotypic distributions for the F1 and F2 generations from a cross between a chick with black (BB) f
lord [1]

Answer:

Please find the punnet square to this question as an attachment

F1 generation:

genotype = BW

Phenotype = Erminette offsprings

F2 generation:

genotype = BB (1): BW(2): WW(1)

Phenotype = 1 Black, 2 Erminette, 1White

Explanation:

This question involves a gene coding for feather color in chickens. The allele for black feathers (B) is codominant with the allele for white feathers (W) to form an erminette chicken (black and white speckles).

According to this question, a cross between a chick with black (BB) feathers and chicken with white (WW) feathers will result in an all erminette chicken (BW) in the F1 generation (see attached image)

Also, in the F2 generation got by self-crossing the Erminette genotype in the F1 generation (BW), the following genotypic and phenotypic ratios are observed:

Genotypic ratio = BB (1): BW(2): WW(1)

Phenotypic ratio = 1 Black, 2 Erminette, 1White
