So for every 1/2 of a foot of the car, the scale model is 1 inch long. The car is 8 feet wide, so the scale would be 16 inches wide because it takes 16 1/2 feet to equal 8 feet.

Frank is trying to decide between two job offers. The compensation package for job A includes a $450-per-month health insurance
miv72 [106K]
The yearly value of the health insurance from job A is $4380. To find this, take the $450 per month, and subtract Frank's contribution of $85. 450-85=$365 benefit per month. Multiply the monthly benefit by 12 months to get 365*12=4380. The yearly value of the health insurance from job B is $4620. To find this, take the $500 per month and subtract Frank's contribution, 500-115=385. No multiply the monthly benefit by 12 to get 385*12=4620.

Given a right triangle with sides a = 3 , b = 4, and c = 5. Find the missing side c of another right triangle with a = 6 and b =
horsena [70]

c = 10

Step-by-step explanation:

We can find out the missing side of a right triangle by using the Pythagorean theorem.

The Pythagorean theorem is...

a^2+b^2=c^2

We can even double check the first problem by plugging in everything into the theorem and solving, everything will come out correct. We can plug in the numbers from the second problem into the theorem and find c, also please note that the hypotenuse of a triangle will always be c. It doesn't matter which you put in for a or b, but since the problem gives us which one is a and which one is b, I'll just be plugging it in like that.

6^2+8^2=c^2

36+64=c^2

100=c^2

A lot of people will stop here and think that the answer is 100, but you need to find the square root of 100, since c is squared. The square root of 100 is 10, so...

c = 10
