Vertex-either the highest point or lowest depending on which way the parabola is (-1,-9)

Y- int- where the graph intersects the y int- (0,-8)

X- int- where the graph intersects the x int- (-4,0) and (2,0)

axis of symmetry- where the line could be folded in half and be the same- x=-1

equation: (x-1)^2 -9=y

The vertex is where the goes up/down ( the endpoint).
The y intercept is where the graph (parabola) touches the y axis (in this case -7,5)
The x intercept is where the graph goes through the x axis (in this case it’s in 2 places; 2 and -4

A nurse mixes 50 cc of a 60% saline solution with a 20% saline solution to produce a 28% saline solution. How much of the 20% so
Alex17521 [72]

Answer:

  • 200 cc

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the added 20% solution.

<u>The salt content is same:</u>

  • 50*0.6 + x*0.2 = 0.28*(x + 50)
  • 30 + 0.2x = 0.28x + 14
  • 0.28x - 0.2x = 30 - 14
  • 0.08x = 16
  • x = 16/0.08
  • x = 200

Prove that: (a2 - b2)3 + (b2-c2)3+ (c2-a2)3 = 3 (a+b) (b+c) (c+a) (a-b) (b-c) (c-a).
Vanyuwa [196]
L=(a^2-b^2)^3+(b^2-c^2)^3+(c^2-a^2)^3=(*)\\\\(a^2-b^2)^3=a^6-3a^4b^2+3a^2b^4-b^6\\\\(b^2-c^2)^3=b^6-3b^4c^2+3b^3c^4-c^6\\\\(c^2-a^2)^3=c^6-3c^4a^2+3c^2a^4-a^6\\\\(*)=a^6-3a^4b^2+3a^2b^4-b^6+b^6-3b^4c^2+3b^2c^4-c^6+c^6-\dots\\\dots-3c^4a^2+3c^2a^4-a^6\\\\=-3a^4b^2+3a^2b^4-3b^4c^2+3b^2c^4-3c^4a^2+3c^2a^4\\\\=3(-a^4b^2+a^2b^4-b^4c^2+b^2c^4-a^2c^4+a^4c^2)

R=3(a+b)(a-b)(b+c)(b-c)(c+a)(c-a)\\\\=3(a^2-b^2)(b^2-c^2)(c^2-a^2)\\\\=3(a^2b^2-a^2c^2-b^4+b^2c^2)(c^2-a^2)\\\\=3(a^2b^2c^2-a^4b^2-a^2c^4+a^4c^2-b^4c^2+a^2b^4+b^2c^4-a^2b^2c^2)\\\\=3(-a^4b^2+a^2b^4-b^4c^2+b^2c^4-a^2c^4+a^4c^2)\\\\L=R
