Open-mindedness does interfere with scientific progress as it can lead to acceptance of untested ideas. Open-mindedness can lead to actually accepting results that are not true. This is not a great angle for people involved with scientific experiments. Open-mindedness should be limited to the fact that the results can lead to negative answers. People that can accept this theory will ultimately succeed in their strive for creating something new. There is nothing wrong in discarding the results that does not seem to fit the bill.

If Luke pushes his sister in a wagon down the driveway that is 14 meters long and it takes 22 Newtons of force, how much work di
Juli2301 [7.4K]

Answer:

308 N\cdot m or 308 J

Explanation:

Work in physics is done when an object is moved due to an applied force. But you need to remember that work is only done if there is movement parallel to the direction of the force applied.

Work can be computed with the formula:

W=Fd

Where:

F = Force

d= distance

So your problem gives you:

F = 22 N (Newtos)

d = 14 m (meters)

All you need to do is plug in the values and multiply:

W = F x d

W = 22N x 14m

W = 308 N-m or 308 J (Joules)

Koch's postulates

Explanation:

Koch formulated a set of criteria that could be used to identify the pathogen responsible for a specific disease and these criteria came to be known as Koch’s postulates:

The organism must be regularly associated with the disease and its characteristic lesions

The organism must be isolated from the diseased host and grown in culture

The disease must be reproduced when a pure culture of the organism is introduced into a healthy, susceptible host

The same organism must be re-isolated from the experimentally infected host

In the given hypothesis , Koch's postulates could be used as:

1) identify pathogen associated with disease 2) isolate or purify pathogen 3) test subject gets pathogen 4) same disease/ causes liver disease or not

Birds, insects, and many reptiles excrete nitrogenous waste in the form of uric acid, which _____. see concept 44.2 (page 980)
Nadusha1986 [10]
Birds, insects, and many reptiles excrete nitrogenous waste in the form of uric acid, which saves water.
Nitrogenous waste in the body tend to form toxic ammonia, which must be excreted. Mammals such as human excrete urea, while birds, reptiles, and some terrestrial invertebrates produce uric acid as waste in the form of a white paste or power. The production of uric acid involves a complex metabolic pathway that is energetically costly in comparison to processing of other nitrogenous wastes such as urea or ammonia, it has the advantages of reducing water loss and, hence, reducing the need for water.
