seropon [69]
You can make this into a fraction, and then simplify it.

15/10, right?

15/10 = 3/2

Then compare 3/2 to the rest of the equation

3/2 = x/16

2 * 8 = 16
so
3 * 8 = x
x = 24

Kim would put x number of pizza slices on her pizza.
So she would be putting on 24 slices on her pizza.

Debbie needs to fill juice-cups for her little brother's birthday party. There are 20 juice-cups and each juice-cup holds 10 flu
Vinvika [58]
Number of juice cups mentioned in question = 20
Quantity of juice that each juice cup can hold = 10 fluid ounces
Quantity of fluid ounces that
20 juice cups require = 20 * 10 fluid ounces
                                  = 200 fluid ounces.
Now
32 fluid ounces = 1 quart
Then
200 fluid ounces = 200/32 quart
                           = 6.25 quart
Again
4 quart = 1 gallon
So
6.25 quart = 6.25/4 gallon
                 = 1.56 gallon
So we see that 1.56 gallon of juice is required by Debbie. As the juice comes in 1 gallon bottles, Debbie needs to order 2 bottles of juice.

There are 500 passengers on a train. 7/20 are men and 40% are women. the rest are children
Ulleksa [173]

On the train, there are a total of 125 children.

Calculating the number of children

Total number of passengers = 500

Out of 500 passengers, men =7/20

So, the number of men= 500* 7/20 = 175

Out of 500 passengers, women = 40%

So, the number of women passengers = 500*40/100 = 200

Therefore, the total number of men and women passengers= 175+200 = 375.

There are also children on the train. So, the rest number should be those children.

The rest number =children= 500- 375 = 125.

So, it is concluded from the above equation that there are 125 children on the train.
