It's 20. You start with the parentheses and 8 + 12 is 20. Then you have the brackets next, and so that's 20/4 and that's 5. Then all you have left is 4 x 5 which is 20.

A cube with a volume of 64 cubic meters is scaled by a factor of 5. What is the volume of the modified cube in cubic meters?
NISA [10]
Volume is in cubic units, meaning the volume ix raised to the 3rd power.

If the cube is scaled by 5, then the volume is scaled by 5^3.

5^3 = 5*5*5 = 125

The new volume would be the original volume multiplied by the total increase:

64 x 125 = 8,000 cubic meters.

Describe whether the rates are equivalent.
GaryK [48]
To get whether they are equal you have to cross multiply the numbers 18x16 and 48x3

48x3= 144

16x18= 288

144 is not equal to 288.

Therefore the rates aren’t equivalent.

SpyIntel [72]
Hello,

x= first number
y= second number

their sum is 56, so:
x+y=56

The first number is 2/5 of the second number, so:
x= \frac{2}{5}y

Those are the two equations.
