Sergeu [11.5K]

Answer:

Mean = 48.6364

s^2 = 331.8545 -- Sample Variance

s = 18.2169 --- Sample Standard Deviation

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

n = 11

Data: 24, 41 ,25 ,68 ,53 ,83 ,43 ,63 ,56 ,34 ,45

Solving (a): The sample mean

Mean = \frac{\sum x}{n}

So:

Mean = \frac{24 +41 +25 +68 +53 +83 +43 +63 +56 +34+ 45}{11}

Mean = \frac{535}{11}

Mean = 48.6364

Solving (b): Sample variance (s^2)

This is calculated as:

s^2 = \frac{\sum (x - \bar x_i)^2}{n - 1}

Where:

\bar x = 48.6364

So:

s^2 = \frac{(24 -48.6364)^2 +(41  -48.6364)^2 +......................+( 45 -48.6364)^2}{11-1}

s^2 = \frac{3318.54545456}{10}

s^2 = 331.8545

Solving (c): Sample Standard Deviation (s)

This is calculated as:

s = \sqrt {s^2

s = \sqrt{331.8545

s = 18.2169

Is it ever possible that cos (A−B)=cos ⁡A−cos ⁡B? Why or why not?
Nookie1986 [14]

Answer:

The given equation is never possible i.e cos ( A - B ) ≠ cos A - cos B

Step-by-step explanation:

Given as :

Is cos ( A - B ) = cos A - cos B

To check this possibility , Let us put the value of angle A and B on both side of equation

Now, Let A = 60°    and  B = 30°

<u>From Left hand side equation </u>

cos ( A - B ) = cos ( 60°  - 30° )

Or, cos ( A - B ) = cos 30°

∴   cos ( A - B ) = \frac{\sqrt{3} }{2}

or, cos ( A - B ) = 0.866

<u>From Right hand side equation</u>

cos A - cos B  =  cos  60° - cos  30°

Or,  cos A - cos B  =   \frac{1}{2} -  \frac{\sqrt{3} }{2}

∴,  cos A - cos B  = 0.5 - 0.866

I.e  cos A - cos B  = - 0.366

So, Left hand side ≠ Right hand side

<u>Since while equating the values of angle A and b in the given equation on both sides, we get that the value of both sides are not equal , Thus we can say that the given equation is not equal to each other .</u>

Hence given equation is never possible i.e cos ( A - B ) ≠ cos A - cos B Answer
