If a gas in a jar with a leaky seal is heated so that kevin temperature quadruples, what fraction of the moles of gas escape?

Chemistry
1 answer:
Akimi4 [234]4 years ago
6 0

Explanation:

From ideal gas equation we have

P1V1= n1RT1

at state 1

And

P2V2= n2RT2

at state 2

given the volume and pressure as constant

therefore we can write

n1/n2 = T2/T1

n2/n1 = T1/T2 = 1/4

Therefore the fraction of moles of gas escaped = 1-1/4 = 3/4

A cube of copper has a temperature of 5°C. The cube is placed in a closed container whose internal temperature is 85°C. What wil
Assoli18 [71]

Answer:

Heat will flow from the air in the container into the cube.

Explanation:

Heat flows from places with higher temperature to places with lower temperature.

With that information in mind then we can see that the cube of copper has a lower temperature than the air in the container (85°C > 5°C), thus heat will flow into the cube.
