The cat righting reflex is a cat's innate ability to orient itself as it falls in order to land on its feet. The righting reflex

begins to appear at 3–4 weeks of age, and is perfected at 7 weeks. The minimum height required for this to occur in most cats would be around 30 cm. You are part of an engineering team trying to reproduce this in a mechanical cat. Your prototype, aptly named Katt, when dropped motionless, upside down from 2.5 m, can right itself before it hits the ground by rotating its "tail". Katt’s body is a solid cylinder 30 cm in length and 15 cm in diameter, with a mass of 3.0 kg. Attached to the center of one end of the body is Katt's tail, a 20-cm long rod which extends out perpendicular to Katt's body and has only 10% the mass of the body. The tail will rotate due to a small electric motor in the body that produces a constant torque. In order to order the piece, determine the angular speeds it will need to deal with.

Difference between horizontal and vertical motions
Free_Kalibri [48]

Answer:

This is to say that the vertical velocity changes by 9.8 m/s each second and the horizontal velocity never changes. This is indeed consistent with the fact that there is a vertical force acting upon a projectile but no horizontal force.

A bicyclist is traveling at a speed of 5 m/s when it suddenly accelerates, at a constant rate of 0.6 m/s^2, for a time of 10s .
givi [52]

Answer:

11m/s

Explanation:

v = v0 + a \times t

where...

v is current velocity

v0 is starting velocity

a is constant acceleration

and t is time accelerating

plugging in given values gives us

v = 5+.6*10 = 5+6 = 11

therefore the velocity at the end of 10 seconds is 11m/s

A transformer for a laptop computer converts a 120-V input to a 24-V output. If the output current for the transformer is 1.8 A,
astra-53 [7]
To find for the input current, we use ratio and proportion concept. We use the equation:

I(input)/ I(output) = V(output)/ V(input)

I(input) / 1.8 A = 24 V / 120 V
I(input) = 0.36 A
