You’d end up with $2,300 so you gained $300 from when you first bought the motorcycle

     We can make this an equation, lets start with how much money he has. Since he bought the motorbike he lost 2,000, then sold it and received 2,500. The 2,000 cancels out but he still has 500. Now that he bought it for 2,200 we subtract 2,200 from 500 and get -1,700. Then finally, he sold it for 2,000 so we add that to -1,700 and get 300. His total profit was $300.

-2,000 + 2,500 = 500
500 - 2,200      = -1,700
-1,700 + 2,000 = 300

Someone please help me. I tried to solve it but couldn’t

Gradient = rise/run = -1/2
Thus:
y = -1/2x + c

Solve for c:
Pick a point for the values of y and x
(2,-2)

-2 = -1/2 (2) + c
c = -2 + 2
c = 0

Thus the equation is
y = -1/2x

For what values of a the following expressions are true: |a−5|=5−a
julia-pushkina [17]

Answer:

Whenever  a\leq 5.

Step-by-step explanation:

We can play around with some numbers and develop some rules for this equation.

Note that the number 5 and -5 are used here, so let's try using 5 as a.

|5-5| = 5-5\\|0| = 0\\0 = 0

So 5 works. Let's try a random number like 3.

|3-5| = 5-3\\|-2| = 2\\2 = 2

Okay, with this info we know that we might be able to develop one rule that a. Just to test, let's try 0, -3, and -5.

|0-5| = 5-0\\|-5| = 5\\5 = 5

Zero works.

|-3 - 5| = 5-(-3)\\|-8| = 8\\8 = 8

-3 works.

|-5 -5| = 5-(-5)\\|-10| = 10\\10 = 10

-5 works. Now, this might stop here making the equation -5 \geq  a \leq  5, so let's test a number outside of -5 - say -20.

|-20 - 5| = 5-(-20)\\|-25| = 25\\25 = 25

Yes! This works, so a works for this equation as long as a \leq 5.

Hope this helped!

Write an equation. Let x be the unknown number.
HACTEHA [7]
Since x is our unknown number, on one side of our equation we will have the "<span>Subtracting two times a number from 10", and on the other will be -3. So,

Write and expression to find the perimeter of a rectangle with a length of 8 mm and width of x mm
Mrrafil [7]

Answer:

P=16+2x

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula for finding the perimeter of a rectangle is P=2l+2w.

Plug the length of 8 and the width of x into the formula.

You'll get P=2(8)+2(x).

Multiply. 2•8=16 and 2•x=2x.

Your expression is P=16+2x.

I hope this helps.
