Answer:

True

Explanation:

Sedimentary rocks are formed from preexisting rock particles. Generally, the formation of sedimentary rocks takes thousands or million of years to form. The first process that takes place in the formation of sedimentary rock is the disintegration of the preexisting rocks by the process of weathering and erosional activities. Due to weathering , the rocks are disintegrated into smaller particles or constituent known as sediment.

The sediments are then transported by erosion to various location. The sediments are later piled up due to constant deposition by erosion. The piling up of this sediment leads to deep burial of the sediments. The buried sediments are thereafter compacted due to pressure. Mineral constituent that influence cementation may further be attach to this compacted sediments to cement the sediments together. The rocks are eventually formed after cementation.

The mercury-201 nuclide radioactively decays by electron capture. Write a balanced nuclear chemical equation that describes this
ICE Princess25 [194]

Answer:

Explanation:

Electron capture is a form of beta decay in which the nucleus of a radionuclide captures an electron. In the case of mercury-201, the equation below illustrates that

²⁰¹₈₀Hg + ⁰₋₁e   ⇒  ²⁰¹₇₉Au

As can be seen above, the electron capture reduces the atomic number by one unit leading to the production of a new radioisotope (because of the change in atomic number).
