Split labor market theory focuses on explaning racial or ethinic conflict, that occurs due to unequal segmentation of labor market and distribution of political power. Sociologist Bonacish suggested that ethnic conflict arises from a split of labor market when different racial or ethical group compete for the same job especially when the other racially group seems to be hired less than the other racially group and when even the payment isn't the same. For example when more white people are hired than black people than this start a conflict between these two races for the split of labor market.

Also when the other race is paid less is is restricted to only certain bad conditioned type of work.
