On the number line, negative numbers go to the left. Since -3 3/4 is negative, go 3 spaces to the left.

When plotting a fraction or decimal on a number line, you need to estimate. If there are half marks in between the numbers, plot the point near the half mark. If it's -3 3/4, count 3 spaces, then go to the half mark of -3 to -4, and plot the 3/4 in between the -3 and -4 half mark. If there is no half mark, place it near the -4 mark.

The red line represents the half mark, the blue line represents where the point would go. Notice how when negative, the numbers go higher as they go left.

The function g(x) is a transformation of the cube root parent function,
asambeis [7]

Answer:

g(x) = 2(\sqrt[3]{x})

Step-by-step explanation:

Parent function given in the graph attached is,

f(x) = \sqrt[3]{x}

Function 'f' passes through a point (1, 1).

If the parent function is stretched vertically by 'k' unit,

Transformed function will be,

g(x) = k.f(x)

Therefore, the image of the parent function will be,

g(x) = k(\sqrt[3]{x})

Since, the given function passes through (1, 2)

g(1) = k(\sqrt[3]{1}) = 2

⇒ k = 2

Therefore, image of the function 'f' will be,

g(x) = 2(\sqrt[3]{x})

What are the values of x and y?
anygoal [31]
see the attached figure with letters

we have that
cos(alfa) triangle ABD=12/y
and
cos(alfa) triangle ABC=y/28
then
12/y=y/28----------> y²=12*28=336----------> y=√336=4√21
y=4√21

<span>applying the Pythagorean theorem  triangle ABC
</span>(16+12)²=x²+y²----------? x²=28²-(4√21)²--------> x²=784-336
x=√448=8√7

the answer is
x=8√7
y=4√21

If the probability of one event occurring is .40 and the probability of a second event occurring is 0.60, then the probability t
diamong [38]

Let P(A)=0.4 and P(B)=0.6. The the probability both events occurring P(AB)=P(A)P(B|A)=P(B)P(A|B).

This shows P(AB) \leq \min(P(A),P(B)) \\ P(AB) \leq \min(0.4,0.6)\\ P(AB) \leq 0.4

If A and B are independent

P(AB)=P(A)P(B)=0.4*0.6=0.24

Thus, the statement is (B) False.
