Answer:

The Number of cars were manufactured with at least one of the two options is 509

Explanation:

Let A = no. of cars manufactured with automatic transmissions = 356

and that with power steering = B = 240 which is given

And those with both these options is given by A∩B

which is A intersection B is = 96 given

We know that AUB = which gives the no. of cars manufactured with at least one of the two options and is given by

AUB = A + B - A∩B

Substituting values in above we get

AUB = 356 +240 - 96 = 509 which is the Number of cars were manufactured with at least one of the two options

Answer:

The answer is 692.

Step-by-step explanation:

Number of cars with automatic transmissions = 356

Number of cars with power steering = 240

Number of cars with both of these options = 96

Number of cars that were manufactured with at least one of the two options = x

x = Number of cars with automatic transmission + Number of card with power steering + Number of cars with both of these options

x = 356 + 240 + 96

x = 692

The number of cars manufactured with at least one of the two options is 692.
