Alison can make 4. Because 1/2 of 8/1 = 4 if you cross out 2 and 8 so it would be 1/1 of 4/1

How many miles pls help me!!!
lozanna [386]
The answer would be 7 miles. I can see that the initial charge is $35. For every mile there is a $2 fee. I found this by looking at how much the fee increases from 1 mile to 3 miles. There’s a $4 increase. So $4 divided by 2 miles is equal to 2. 1 mile is equal to $2 after the initial price. I counted by 2s from 41 to 49. Every count of 2 is a mile. When I landed on 49 I was at the 7th mile. A half of a mile is equal to $1. I know this because from 7 miles to 8.5 miles, there is a $3 increase. The 8th mile would be $51, but the half of a mile increases the cost by $1. Sorry if it’s very wordy. The answer is 7 miles though!

Can someone assist me with this?
Mnenie [13.5K]

Answer:

29: 7

Step-by-step explanation:

\frac{8}{3x - y}  =  \frac{5}{x + 3y}

<em>Cross</em><em> </em><em>multiply</em><em>:</em>

8(x + 3y) = 5(3x - y)

<em>Expand</em><em> </em><em>bracket</em><em>:</em>

8x + 24y = 15x - 5y

<em>Bring</em><em> </em><em>x</em><em> </em><em>terms</em><em> </em><em>to</em><em> </em><em>1</em><em> </em><em>side</em><em>,</em><em> </em><em>y</em><em> </em><em>terms</em><em> </em><em>to</em><em> </em><em>the</em><em> </em><em>other</em><em>:</em>

15x - 8x = 24y + 5y

<em>Simplify</em><em>:</em>

<em>7x = 29y</em>

<em>Divide</em><em> </em><em>by</em><em> </em><em>7</em><em> </em><em>on</em><em> </em><em>both</em><em> </em><em>sides</em><em>:</em>

x =  \frac{29}{7} y

<em>Divide</em><em> </em><em>both</em><em> </em><em>sides</em><em> </em><em>by</em><em> </em><em>y</em><em>:</em>

<em>\frac{x}{y} = \frac{29}{7}</em>

∴ The ratio of x to y is 29:7.

What is the probability of rolling a multiple of five
Eva8 [605]

Answer:

1/6

Step-by-step explanation:

On an equal dice? 1/6

There are 6 sides to a dice.

The sum of all the probabilities is 1.

As each side has equal probability, their probability is 1 / number of options = 1/6.

Look at the following number sequence. 3, 7, 11, 15, . . . Based on the pattern, what are the next two terms?
viva [34]
So, if we look at the number pattern, we can see the numbers go up by 4.

The rule is Add 4.

So, to find the next two terms, we would add 4 to the last number shown, which is 15.

15 + 4 = 19

19 + 4 = 23

So, the next two terms are →19←
 and →23←.

Glad I could help, and good luck!
