Answer:

As, when Graph is reflected across the X axis

1. The two, Image which is Quadrilateral G H I J and Pre image which is Quadrilateral QPRS will be congruent.

2. Distance from X axis to each of the vertices of Quadrilateral QPRS will be same as distance from each of the vertices of Quadrilateral G H I J from X axis.

As, Quadrilateral QPRS lies in first Quadrant, so when it is reflected across X axis, it moves in Second Quadrant which is Quadrilateral GHIJ.

Q→→G, P→→H, R→→I, S→→J.

Coordinates of S=(1,1)

Coordinates of J=(-1,1)

The coordinate plane shows the floor plan for a swimming pool. What is the area of the pool's border?
LekaFEV [45]

Answer:

  border area: 100 m²

Step-by-step explanation:

The area of the pool border will be the overall area of the pool and boder, less the area of the pool. The area of each rectangle is the product of its length and width. The length and width of each can be found using the Pythagorean theorem.

__

Pythagorean Triple

The triple (3, 4, 5) is called a Pythagorean triple, because ...

  3² +4² = 5²

That is, a triangle with sides of lengths 3, 4, and 5 will be a right triangle with a hypotenuse of length 5.

__

Application to Pool/Border Dimensions

We notice that the sides of the rectangles in the figure have a rise/run of ±3/4 or ±4/3. In each case, the side of the rectangle is the hypotenuse of a triangle with dimensions a multiple of 3 or 4 meters. Hence the hypotenuse (rectangle side length) is the corresponding multiple of 5 meters. The attachment illustrates this point, showing a triangle with sides that are (6, 8, 10), 2 times the basic triple.

The pool is 5 m by 10 m, for an area of ...

  A = LW = (10 m)(5 m) = 50 m²

The overall area is 10 m by 15 m, for an area of ...

  A = (15 m)(10 m) = 150 m²

__

Border Area

The pool's border is the difference between the overall area and the pool area:

  150 m² -50 m² = 100 m² . . . . area of pool's border

Which number best represents Point Q on the number line below?
Bumek [7]

Answer:

D. 3.5!

Step-by-step explanation:

If you slowly go up the line it will be 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4, if it were to carry on it would keep being .5 then the next number. Since this is not a fraction number line the answer is not A. -9/2 nor C. -7/2.

A cashier has a total of 30 bills consisting of ones, fives and twenties. the number of twenties is 5 less than the number of on
Varvara68 [4.7K]

Let us say that:

a = ones

b = fives

c = twenties

So that the total money is:

1 * a + 5 * b + 20 * c = 229

=> a + 5b + 20c = 229                                       --> eqtn 1

We are also given that:

c = a – 5                                                                --> eqtn 2

a + b + c = 30                                                      --> eqtn 3

Rewriting eqtn 3 in terms of b:

b = 30 – a – c

Plugging in eqtn 2 into this:

b = 30 – a – (a – 5)

b = 35 – 2a                                                           --> eqtn 4

Plugging in eqtn 2 and 4 into eqtn 1:

a + 5(35 – 2a) + 20(a – 5) = 229

a + 175 – 10a + 20a – 100 = 229

11a = 154

a = 14

So,

b = 35 – 2a = 7

c = a – 5 = 9

Therefore there are 14 ones, 7 fives, and 9 twenties.

a meteorologist measures the angle of elevation of a weather balloon with the ground as 41. A radio signal from the balloon indi
Aneli [31]
Here you would use right triangle trig (SOH CAH TOA)
So first draw a right triangle. Imagine youre standing at the angle opposite the right angle which is the one on the ground.This angle is the 41°. Now Imagine the balloon is as the angle above the right triangle. Well since the balloon is 1503 m from his location this would be the hypotenuse. SInce we are trying to find the height (x) we would use sine since
sine = opposite/hypotenuse . Now lets solve make sure calculator is in degree mode:

sin41 = x/1503 multiply both sides by 1503 to cancel it out
1503sin41 = x        plug into calculator
x = 986.057 ft
The balloon is 986.057 feet above the ground.

How many cubic centimeters is 5 cubic meters.
tresset_1 [31]
The key to solving this question is first knowing how many cubic cm are in one cubic m:

The ratio is always 1000000 cubic cm in 1 cubic meter.

Knowing this, we calculate how many cubic cm are in 5 cubic meters!

1000000 cubic cm = 1 cubic m
      x cubic cm           5 cubic m

x = 1000000 cubic cm x 5 cubic m ÷ 1 cubic m
x = 5000000 cubic cm

Hope this helps!
