Answer:

The radius of the given equation is 2 .

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of a circle whose center (h, k) and radius is r,

(x - h)² + (y - k)² = r² ..............................(i)

Here given that-

x² + y² + 21 = 10 x

<em>x² - 10 x + y² + 21 = 0</em>

<em>( To making perfect square, add and subtract 25 ) -</em>

<em>x² - 10 x + 25 - 25 + y² + 21 = 0 </em>

<em>(x² - 10 x + 25) + y² -4 =0</em>

[As we know that -

(x - 5)² = x² - 10 x + 25]

<em>(x - 5 )² + y² = 4</em>

<em>(x - 5)² + (y - 0)² = 4</em>

<em>(x - 5 )² + (y- 0)² = 2² ................................(ii)</em>

On comparing equation (i) and(ii)-

r = 2

Hence the radius of the given equation is 2 and center is ( 5, 0).

5=1/2x - 3 please help me out
liq [111]

Answer:

x = 16

Step-by-step explanation:

5 = 1/2(x) - 3

Add 3 to both sides.

8 = 1/2(x)

Rewrite for clarity.

1/2(x) = 8

x/2 = 8

Multiply both sides by 2.

x = 16.

Proof:

5 = 1/2(x) - 3

Substitute variable.

5 = 1/2(16) - 3

Multiply 1/2 and 16.

5 = 8 - 3

Subtract 3 from 8.

5 = 5

FinnZ [79.3K]

Answer:

the value of the variable x is 16

Step-by-step explanation:

given \: expression \\  \frac{5}{8}x =  \frac{1}{2} x + 2 \\ substract \: \frac{1}{2} x from \: both \: sides \\ \frac{5}{8}x  - \frac{1}{2} x = \frac{1}{2} x  - \frac{1}{2} x  + 2 - \frac{1}{2} x  \\ factor \: out \: common \: x \\ x( \frac{5}{8}  -  \frac{1}{2} ) =  \frac{1}{8}  \\ simplify \\ \frac{1}{2} x  + 2 - \frac{1}{2} x \:  \frac{1}{2} x -  \frac{1}{2} x = 0 = 2 \\  \frac{1}{8} x = 2 \\ multiply \: both \: sides \: by \: 8 \\ 8. \frac{1}{8} x = 2.8 \\ simplify \\ x = 16.

Answer:

graph D

Step-by-step explanation:

If you want to figure out if a graph is a function, try the vertical line test

The vertical line test is when you are able to draw a vertical line on any point of the graph, and the line you have drawn will only pass through the graph once. if it passes the graph more than one time, it is not a function
