If you had an allergy to a certain food you would be able to know what foods on the menu you can have. It will also save you from having a bad allergic reaction. Another reason is if you were trying to watch you sodium and sugar intake. You would be able to see how much sugar and sodium is in a dish and make the best decision on your meal.
