An investigational drug, also known as an experimental drug is a drug which are used in human clinical trials to test its efficacy in treatment of a stated condition such that permission for the the drug trial is first obtained from the administrations such as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the United State of America or the European Medicines Agency (EMA) in Europe.
