You start off by finding common denominators. To do that we first have to take 1 1/2 and change it to 3/2 and you get that by adding 1/2 to 2/2, which is equal to 1. Then you have to get your denominator of 2 to be equal to your denominator of 4 , so we do that by multiplying the top and bottom of 3/2 by 2 . giving us 6/4 . then it is a simple subtraction problem , 6/4 - 3/4 , and from that we subtract across getting 3/4 .

Explain how to solve the equation by reasoning about numbers, operations, and expressions. Do NOT use standard algebraic equatio
Brilliant_brown [7]

Answer:

x=924

Step-by-step explanation:

348 + 926 = x + 350

we have two 2-terms additions in both sides of the equation.

348 and 350 are two similar numbers then x and 926 should be really close numbers.

(due to commutative property of additions 348 + 926 = 350 + x)

since 348 has two units less than 350, then 926 must have two units more than x, and x=924

(indirect proportionality)

A rectangular prism has a length of 12 feet, a width of 6 feet, and a height of 2 feet.
aliina [53]
The volume of the prism is 144 ft^3. If we use the letter V to represent volume, the formula for the volume of a rectangular prism is V=length*width*height. When you plug in the numbers, the equation is V=12*6*2. When you multiply these three numbers together, you get 144. Because you are finding the volume, your units are cubed, so your answer is 144 ft^3. I have attached an image of this problem written out (I’m sorry if the image is bad, I drew it on my phone). If you need any more help or any clarification, please let me know and I will be happy to help!

A student thinks that the regular pentagon in the diagram
Nadya [2.5K]

Answer:

A

Step-by-step explanation:

The student must have thought that every single arrowhead is a line of symmetry, so since there are 10 arrowheads, there must be 10 lines of symmetry. This is incorrect because if you look closely at the diagram, each line has 2 arrowheads, so the student is overcounting by a factor of 2. They should have just counted the number of lines, not arrowheads. Therefore, there must be 10/2 = 5 lines of symmetry, not 10. Hope this helps!
