-3x+9y =18

add 3x to each side

9y = 3x+18

divide by 9

y = 3/9 x +18/9

y = 1/3 x+2

the slope is 1/3

the y intercept is 2

-3x+9y =18

let y=0 to find the x intercept

-3x=18

divide by -3

x=-6

the x intercept is -6

To pass her test, Tori needs to answer at least 65% of the questions correct. If there were 60
aliina [53]
1) change 65% to a decimal = .65

2) .65 • 60 = 37.2 questions need to be right

3) since she got 42 correct, that is greater than 37.2, so she passed.

OR

1) 42/60 = 0.7

2) 0.7 to a percent = 70%

3) since she got a 70% on the test, she passed.

At the U.S open tennis championship a statistician keeps track of every serve that a player hits during the tournament. The mean
GarryVolchara [31]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Both 115 and 145 mph are above the mean. Draw a normal curve and mark these speeds. 115 mph is 1 standard deviation above the mean; 130 would be 2 standard deviations above the mean; and 145 would be 3 s. d. above it.

We need to find the area under the standard normal curve between 115 and 145. This is equivalent to the area under the standard normal curve between z = 1 and z = 3.

I used my TI-83 Plus calculator's DISTR function "normalcdf(" to calculate this area: normalcdf(1, 3) = 0.1573.

The area between z = 1 and z = 3 is 0.1573. In other words, the percentage of serves that were between 115 and 145 mph was 15.73%.

Solve the system by graphing.

3x+8y=16

3x+8y=-64
Gnesinka [82]

-3x-y=10

4x-4y=8

or

y = -3x - 10

P(0,-10) and P(-2, -4) on this line: Plot and connect with the Line.

y = x - 2

P(0, -2) and (2,0) on this line: Plot and connect with the Line.

P(-2,-4) is the ordered pair that is the solution for this system of EQs

On may CHECK by substituting x= -2 and y = -4 into the EQs of these Lines

Hope this helps!!!
