Well, it depends on which type of socialism you're talking about. I will tell you about the ones that I know. Socialism in Venezuela, Cuba, Bolivia, Brasil, Ecuador and Nicaragua. Are the views of the common people taken into account in the socialist regines? The short answer is: of course not! The only opinions and ideas that gets taken into account are the ones that coincide with the socialist party. You have to remember that socialism is based on the ideals of the failed and the mediocre and they need to remain in power for as much as they can no matter at what cost. Let me refrain my answer.
